We can draw tremendous support and inspiration by meditating in the open expanse of nature, unleashing us from our usual frames of reference, constrictions, fixations and busyness.
The session will include a short introductory talk on the practice of traditional sky-gazing natural meditation from the Dzogchen tradition, using the expanse of the sky as a means and support to open our hearts and minds.
This will be followed by gently guided meditation together with some silent sitting, lasting for about 45 minutes. This is an easy, comfortable practice and participants are free to move at any time.
All are welcome, regardless of experience or spiritual tradition (if any). There will be ample opportunity for Q&A following the session.
To reach the meeting point, drive to the top of Alta Laguna Boulevard. There is usually free street parking, and also a free parking lot serving Alta Laguna Park there. After parking, walk back to the top of Alta Laguna Blvd, and just past the barrier a few steps down the track you will find the group on the right.
Please note that it can be considerably chillier & quite sunny up here near "Top of the World", so please bring along a jacket, sunscreen & hat just in case you need them. Please also bring whatever you’d like to sit on during the practice (towel, beach chair, blankie, etc) since no chairs are provided at this location. There is however a small cement wall/bench to sit on, that can accommodate a few people.
Also feel free to join in on the light community picnic brunch following this session, by bringing a small snack to share at the picnic table.
There are public restrooms available at Alta Laguna Park.
